A Message From Our President - January 2021

My plan for the year 2021 isn’t a resolution. It’s a goal. I’ve come to realize I don’t really know what a resolution is – mainly because making up your mind to start doing something you never really did before isn’t the most convincing way to improve. At least not for me. If I resolved to dunk a basketball, I’d still have to figure out how to jump high enough to do that, which is something I simply cannot do. Nor can I palm a basketball. It would be a funny resolution, but not a positive one.

Goals, though, that’s a different story. I get goals. I understand them. I’m drawn to them. And I enjoy them.

So, my goals for our telehealth business in 2021 are specific and real. I want to continue growing the business and connecting patients with quality care wherever and whenever it's needed. That’s both simple and complicated, but that’s the goal. As part of this, I want us to make great strides in Physician Engagement, something we have entrusted to an outstanding person on our team who has thoughtfully reworked our entire approach to physician engagement. It leaves me feeling much more confident in what we do, and how we do it.

Telehealth comes with some wonderful opportunities to make meaningful change, as well as to reliably care for patients with compassion each day. We strive to see more patients, which is an essential mission of ours. But seeing more patients means nothing if we don’t steadily improve on physician engagement, loyalty, and commitment. It also falls on us to do our best daily to provide excellence in patient care.

So these goals become significant and time consuming and fun to work on, since our company is committed to improvement in these areas and many others. We haven’t resolved to do anything.  We’ve set goals with measurable milestones and timelines to match, and we are committed to make these goals happen. It’s a lot, but it’s also a lot of fun.

I like everything about that.  Here’s to a meaningful new year.

Jack
