Psychiatrist Needed for Locum Coverage at Inpatient Facility in Colorado

About the facility

The inpatient psychiatric facility is establishing a new program with initial and target census volumes to be determined as operations ramp up. The facility maintains a current census of 12 patients with an average length of stay ranging from 3 to 7 days. Adult patients are the primary population served, with potential for limited ambulatory geriatric services.

About the clinician's workday

The psychiatrist will lead daily treatment team meetings and oversee medical detox protocols for adult patients. All admissions and psychiatric evaluations must be completed by the MD, as nurse practitioners do not perform these functions. The role involves managing patients with mood disorders, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, and substance use disorders. Call structure will be determined with minimal rotation initially due to the program's start-up phase.
