Coverage Overview

Coverage Type: 24-hour call

Shift Times: 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM (next day)

Locations: Floating between two sister facilities (Main OR at HVMC & Endo Suite at BRMC)

Setting: Inpatient only

Providers will round on their census each morning, address highest-acuity patients first, and perform procedures throughout the day based on assignment.


Clinical Details

Department: GI call coverage for Level III Trauma Center

Typical Cases: GI bleeds, abdominal pain, food bolus, elevated LFTs, and other acute GI issues

Patient Volume: ~8 patients per day

Patient Age Range: Varies

Support Staff: None

EMR: Epic

Work Environment: Endoscopy suite + Main OR


Provider Requirements

Board Certification: BC in Gastroenterology

License: TN license required (IMLC accepted; willing to license)

Certifications: ERCP (required), BLS

Skills: Must be fully proficient in ERCP

DEA: Required
