Position Overview
• Specialty: Emergency Medicine

• Practice Setting: Inpatient emergency department
• Department Profile:
o Level IV trauma center
o Approximately 12,000 annual ED visits
o 8% admission rate
o Single physician coverage (no APP support)
• Clinical Environment:
o Must be comfortable managing a wide spectrum of cases with limited backup
o Prior experience in rural or critical access EDs strongly preferred
• Additional Resources:
o OB, Ortho, ENT, Urology, Radiology, Pediatrics support available
o Respiratory Therapy onsite
o Helipad onsite
o Physician sleep room available

Schedule and Coverage
• Shift Length: 12 hour shifts
o Days: 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
o Nights: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (primary need is nights)
• Coverage Expectation:
o Average 4 shifts per month
• Onboarding Requirement:
o Providers must arrive one day prior to first shift to ensure readiness

Provider Requirements
• Board Certification:
o Emergency Medicine preferred
o Family Medicine accepted with emergency medicine experience
• Licensure:
o Active and unrestricted North Dakota license required
o Emergency privileges possible with active ND license
• Certifications:
o ACLS
o PALS
o ATLS
o DEA
• Experience:
o Minimum 2 years of emergency medicine experience
• Clinical Skills Required:
o Intubation and advanced airway management
o Chest tube placement
o Central line insertion
o Procedural sedation
o Adult and pediatric resuscitation
o Orthopedic emergencies
o Leading trauma resuscitations and multidisciplinary teams
• Travel Support:
o Lodging and mileage covered
o No flights provided
