Nurse Practitioner

Job description

About Us
Helen's Project Mental Health Care is a nonprofit organization founded in 2009 dedicated to empowering individuals and families through accessible, high-quality mental health care. We deliver evidence-based, client-centered telehealth services to youth ages 5 and older through adults across our licensed service states. Our team is collaborative, mission-driven, and committed to making a real difference in the communities we serve by making quality mental healthcare accessible.
The Role
We are looking for a compassionate and clinically sharp Nurse Practitioner to join our growing care team. In this role, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric and medical support to our clients in a fully remote telehealth environment, working closely with our interdisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
Responsibilities
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including psychiatric and medical evaluations, for adolescent and adult populations
Develop and implement individualized, evidence-based treatment plans in alignment with client needs and organizational standards
Prescribe and manage medications in accordance with applicable state laws, scope of practice, and clinical best practices
Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as clinically appropriate
Maintain accurate, complete, and timely clinical documentation within the organization's Behavioral Health EHR & Practice Management System within forty-eight (48) hours of each session
Collaborate actively with the interdisciplinary care team — including therapists, clinical leadership, and administrative staff — to support continuity of care and positive client outcomes
Adhere to all ethical guidelines, licensing board requirements, and state-specific regulations applicable to your licensure
Follow all crisis management and emergency response protocols, including mandated reporting obligations (Section 7.7)
Participate in required supervision (if applicable), staff meetings, and ongoing professional development
Comply with all clinical, administrative, and operational policies outlined in the Helen's Project Policy and Procedure Manual
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in psychiatric or behavioral health settings — this is an area of ongoing growth for our organization and specialty background is strongly valued
Telehealth experience — our services are delivered entirely via HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms, so comfort with virtual care is a significant plus
Familiarity with Behavioral Health EHR & Practice Management Systems
Bilingual capabilities (English/Spanish or other languages) — we serve a diverse client population and language access remains a gap we are actively working to address
Experience working with adolescent populations (ages 15+)
Background in trauma-informed care, anxiety, depression, or co-occurring disorders
