Cardiac Surgery APP Needed in Baltimore, MD (PRN) ***Willing to license***

Job description

* Start: September/October
* Contract Length: 13 weeks
* PRN coverage for vacation and weekend call
* Trauma Level II

Schedule:

* Weekday OR shifts: 7:00 AM–5:00 PM (10 hours)
* Weekday call: 7:00 AM–7:00 AM
* Weekend call: Saturday 7:00 AM–Monday 7:00 AM
* No in-hospital rounding during weekend call

Practice Details:

* Cardiac Surgery service
* Support from 1 full-time and 1 PRN Cardiac Surgeon
* OR APP and ICU APP also participate in call
* Elective cases paused during coverage; emergent cases only
* No heart transplant patients
* MICU manages medical patients; SICU manages all surgical patients except Cardiac Surgery

Clinical Responsibilities:

* Cardiac Surgery OR First Assist
* Independent vein harvesting (radial artery experience preferred)
* Post-operative management of open-heart surgery patients after ICU discharge
* Cardiac surgery consults
* Familiarity with fresh post-operative cardiac surgery patients and ventilator management

Requirements:

* Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
* Extensive Cardiac Surgery OR experience
* Independent vein harvesting experience required
* Radial artery harvesting preferred but not required
* Experience with post-operative cardiac surgery patient management and ventilator management required
