CRNA – High-Acuity, Multi-Site Coverage (Level I Trauma Experience Required) in VA
Job description
Schedule & Commitment
• Start: ASAP (Jan 5th preferred; later starts considered)
• 1-year contract through end of 2026
• Shifts: 8s, 10s, 12s
• Minimum: 1 shift per week
• Open to local and non-local clinicians
• Open to 1–2 weeks per month
• Must be open to call: max 1–2 call shifts/month, beeper call only (details pending)
Clinical Environment
• Three-site float between one Level I Trauma center + two community hospitals
• Fast-paced environment — Level I trauma experience required
• Team: 30+ anesthesiologists, 70+ CRNAs
• Fully supervised care-team model (1:4)
• EMR: Cerner
• Bed size: ~700 across the system
• Patient volume varies by site
Case Mix
• Large vascular, neuro, high-risk OB/GYN, ortho, general, thoracic
• Minimal peds; no hearts for locums
• CRNAs perform:
– Epidurals, spinals, arterial lines
– Some OB, some trauma
– Some arterial catheters, lumbar epidurals, spinal anesthesia
• Not performed: brachial plexus blocks or other regional blocks
