This well-established healthcare network operates multiple urgent care clinic locations across the Richmond area, providing comprehensive episodic and primary care services to a diverse patient population ranging from birth to end of life. The clinics are open seven days a week and offer a dynamic, fast-paced environment with strong organizational support.

Job Details:

  • Provide urgent care services across multiple clinic locations in the Richmond, VA area
  • Locum to Permanent opportunity covering 3 shifts per week until a permanent provider is hired
  • Clinics operate 7 days a week, 8am-8pm; shifts are 12 hours or more depending on patient flow
  • Expected to see all patients who arrive during hours of operation
  • Patient population spans birth to end of life and varies by clinic location and day
  • Average patient volume ranges from 25 to 50 patients per day, with higher volumes during cold and flu season
  • 100% outpatient practice setting with no call coverage required
  • Perform laceration repair including simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling
  • Perform incision and drainage (I&D) including packing
  • Perform foreign body removal and minor burn management
  • Provide skin lesion care and orthopedic injury stabilization including splinting and casting
  • Perform joint reduction procedures
  • Interpret X-rays and perform EKG evaluation
  • Conduct point-of-care lab interpretation including rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis, and blood glucose testing
  • Manage epistaxis including anterior nasal packing or chemical cautery (silver nitrate)
  • Perform cerumen impaction removal
  • Provide airway support including administration of nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization
  • Higher acuity cases to be referred to appropriate higher level of care (ED/ER)
  • Document using Epic EMR
  • Active Virginia medical license required
  • Board Certification required
  • Active BLS and DEA required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in an ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care setting required
  • Clean background with no malpractice or license issues required
  • Local candidates preferred; no travel reimbursement provided
  • Estimated credentialing timeframe is 60 to 90 days

Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates with weekly pay and malpractice included.
