# Urgent Care Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant

### Locum Tenens | Locum-to-Permanent

## ⚡ THE HIGHLIGHTS

* **Providers Needed:** NP / PA
* **Start:** ASAP after credentialing
* **Schedule:** 3 days/week
* **Hours:** 8:00 AM–8:00 PM; shifts are approximately 12+ hours depending on patient flow
* **Call:** None
* **Setting:** 100% outpatient clinic
* **Patient Population:** Birth through geriatrics
* **Volume:** Approximately 25–50 patients/day
* **EMR:** Epic
* **Credentialing:** 60–90 days
* **Assignment:** Locum with potential permanent placement
* **Travel:** No travel reimbursement; local candidates or all-inclusive rates preferred

## 🩺 JOB OVERVIEW

Seeking experienced **Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants** to provide urgent care coverage across multiple outpatient clinic locations. Providers will evaluate and treat patients of all ages and manage a broad range of acute conditions.

### Key Procedures & Skills

* Laceration repair, suturing, and stapling
* Incision & drainage and foreign body removal
* Minor burns and skin lesions
* Splinting, casting, and joint reduction
* X-ray and EKG interpretation
* Point-of-care testing: strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis, and glucose
* Epistaxis management and cerumen removal
* Nebulizer treatments and initial emergency stabilization
* Refer higher-acuity patients to appropriate higher-level care

## ✅ REQUIREMENTS

* **Board Certified – Required**
* **Active Virginia NP or PA license – Required**
* **BLS – Required**
* **DEA – Required**
* **Minimum 1 year experience** in Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or Primary Care
* Clean background, malpractice history, and professional license history required
* Must be comfortable treating patients across the full age spectrum
