Neuro ICU NP Nights – Louisiana | 12–16 Shifts/Month

Opportunity Details: Neuro ICU NP (Louisiana)

Schedule: Night shifts (in-house)
12–16 shifts per month
Closed Neuro ICU with 24/7 APP coverage

Work Details:

Adult ICU population with primary neurologic diagnoses
10–20 patients per day (acuity-based management)
EMR: Epic
Support: Neurointensivist (daily rounding + overnight phone support), nursing, RT, additional APPs

Responsibilities:

Admissions, rounding, and ongoing ICU management
Ventilator and hemodynamic management
Critical care procedures and rapid response
Documentation (H&P, consults, progress notes, discharge summaries)
Care coordination and patient/family education

Clinical Scope:

Stroke (AIS, ICH, SAH), TBI, status epilepticus
Intracranial pressure management
Neuromuscular respiratory failure
Post-op neurosurgical care (craniotomy, spine, aneurysm repair)
Brain death evaluation and critical care emergencies

Preferred Procedures:

Central lines, arterial lines, lumbar punctures
Neuroimaging interpretation (CT head), CXR, ECG

Requirements:

NP (Adult Geriatric or Acute Care)
Active license required
DEA & CSR required
BLS, ACLS, ENLS required
Minimum 1 year Neuro ICU or critical care experience

Credentialing:

Approx. 60 days
