Neurosurgery 24-Hour Call – 1 Weekend/Month – Central North Carolina
Job description
A not-for-profit, 200+ bed community hospital in central North Carolina is seeking a board-certified neurosurgeon for ongoing 24-hour call coverage. This is a great option for surgeons who want to add a consistent weekend locums schedule without disrupting their primary practice.
Assignment Details:
• Location: Central North Carolina community between Greensboro and the Raleigh-Durham area
• Setting: Acute-care community hospital; part of a multi-hospital regional health system
• Coverage:
o 24-hour call, 7a–7a
o Typically 1 weekend per month (Fri–Mon)
o Additional holiday blocks (Spring Break and Christmas) available
• Scope:
o General neurosurgery and spine
o Peripheral nerve and brachial plexus cases
o ED consults, inpatient consults, and operative emergencies typical of a community neurosurgery service
• Support:
o Existing team of 5 neurosurgeons
o Full hospitalist and specialty support
o EPIC EMR
• Travel: Provided
Requirements:
• Board certified in Neurosurgery
• Active North Carolina license (not able to sponsor new licenses)
• DEA
• Minimum 2 years of post-training experience
• Comfortable with the full spectrum of community neurosurgery call and able to integrate well with an established team
